This community is up for adoption
Five miles north of Platteville on Highway 85 is Gilcrest. Like its sister
town to the south, Gilcrest's major market is the surrounding agricultural area.
The leading source of income is agriculture. A ConAgra feeding operation is
located nearby, as are Nix Produce and the Milliken Early Potato Association.
Gilcrest was incorporated in 1912. |
